Grass Surface Autocross
The Billy Cavanagh Memorial 2 day Autocross will take place on the 30th & 31st August 2025 and we are delighted to be taking this years event to a new venue (E53AN22).

Helping to make motorsport more inclusive, we will be holding an Autism Friendly hour on the 30th August 2025 from 6 to 7pm at our two day Autocross weekend (E53AN22).

The Billy Cavanagh Memorial 2 day Autocross will take place on the 30th & 31st August 2025 and we are delighted to be taking this years event to a new venue (E53AN22).
Willie Percy has stepped up to the COC role this year and the work put in by him and his team is outstanding!

Both days will be counting rounds of the Shannon Trophies National Grass Surface Autocross Championship but the Sunday event will also host a round of the Barrett International Transport and CJN Plant Limited Munster Autocross Championship.

Autocross Autism Friendly Hour - 30th August 2025 6pm - 7pm
Also, helping to make motorsport more inclusive, we will be holding an Autism Friendly hour on the 30th August 2025 from 6 to 7pm at our two day Autocross weekend.
This quiet hour will take place from 6-7pm on Saturday 30th August, near Cloughjordan (Eircode E53 AN22)
Our Sensory-Friendly Hour is designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities-offering a quieter, calmer environment to view and enjoy the Autocross Cars, Specials and Buggy’s. These will be parked in a separate enclosure, well away from the hustle and bustle of the main centre of operations.
During Sensory-Friendly Hour:
- Static Display
- No loud engine noises
- Reduced fuel fumes
- Reduced Crowds
- Calm outdoor surroundings

The Annual Tom O’Reilly Memorial Car Treasure Hunt took place on Monday 4th August based in Dooly’s Hotel Birr.
This year’s route started in Emmet Square then on to through Syngefield, Killyon, Clareen, Ballygaddy and finishing at the Miletree. Clues were funny, challenging and entertaining.
A record entry of 106 cars took part. Competition was fierce and eventually Dromoyle’s Beverley Shaw emerged a popular winner on 725 Marks. Runner Up went to Brendan O’Carroll from Birr on 720 marks, a mere 5 Marks from the overall win. 3rd Overall went to Niamh Carroll and friends, Niamh is from Coolderry and scored 690 marks.
Best Birr MC award went to TJ O’Brien (485) from Nenagh, followed by John Cavanagh & Family (380) from Cloughjordan and Cork Man Trevor O’Callaghan in 3rd position (310).
As ever the Birr & District Motor Club would to thank the residents along the route for their patience and understanding and Dooly’s Hotel for a magnificent HQ. A very special thanks to the organising team that was led by Eoin Longworth which comprised of Ethna Garahy, Una O’Brien, Theresa Moore, Susan Smyth, Pat Horan, Noelle Horan, Declan Burke, David Forde, Hal Lewis, TJ O’Brien, Trevor O’Callaghan, Patrick O’Leary, Barry Duggan, Elizebeth Morrissey, Michael Parkinson and Mick Boland.
Tom O'Reilly Memorial Car Treasure Hunt & Vintage Car Display
The Vintage Display will take place on Saturday 2nd August 2025.

The Birr & District Motor Club Tom O'Reilly Memorial Annual Car Treasure Hunt will take on Monday 4th August 2025
A fun filled evening for all the family is assured whilst finding and solving the clues along a route which will prove both Challenging & Entertaining to all the participants.
Registration from 5:15pm at Dooly's Hotel, Birr.
The Car Treasure Hunt is running in conjunction with the Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival.

Tests will be Simple, easy to remember and will be suitable for Multi Venue, Endurance, Retro and Road Cars. Tests will be on sealed surfaces. This year is also rounds 3 & 4 of the Partsworld Munster Autotest Championship.
- Venue: Road Master, Johnstown, Urlingford, E41 TD40 (near M8, Junction 4)
- Great weekends driving and fun assured.
