Birr & District Motor Club News The Birr Motor club are running a loose surface autocross in place of the cancelled Killarney event this Sunday 23rd of May. This autocross is a counting round of the Jerry Murphy Tyres Hankook Munster Autocross Championship. Link to Autocross (Joe Lane) Photos The next club Meeting will be held in Grants Hotel Roscrea on Monday 14th of June at 8.30pm Also the Midlands East Rally Website is changed to www.mercrallychampionship.com -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- Birr and District Motor Club was founded in 1968 as Birr and Distict Auto Club by a handful of motorsport enthusiasts in the Birr area. It has since developed into one of the Midlands most successful motorclubs with over 200 members from the counties Offaly, North Tipperary, Laois, Westmeath and Roscommon. The club generally runs 5 events throughout the year, a tarmac rally, a forestry rally and 2 autocross events. The club also organises the Tom O'Reilly Memorial Treasure Hunt in conjunction with the Birr Vintage Week festival committee. We welcome enquiries from anyone who may be interested in getting involved in Irish motorsport or joining our club. Our combined membership has a wealth of knowledge varying from building cars to competing to organising events and we are all more than happy to share it!! Club meetings are generally held on the first Monday of each month at 8.30pm (for the summer months) in Grant's Hotel, Roscrea Members are notified of meetings via the clubs text alert system
