Birr
and District Motor Club
was founded in 1968 as Birr and District Auto Club by a handful of
motorsport enthusiasts in the Birr area. It has since developed into one
of the Midlands most successful motor clubs with over 100 members from
the counties Offaly,
The club runs 5 events throughout the
year, a Multi Stage Tarmac Rally, Navigation Trial and 2 Autocross
Events (Loose & Grass Surface). The club also organises the annual Tom
O'Reilly Memorial Car Treasure Hunt in conjunction with the Birr Vintage
Week Festival Committee. Tom was
a founder member of the club and was chairperson for a good many years
until his death in 2001.
We welcome enquiries from anyone who may
be interested in getting involved in Irish motorsport or joining our
club. Our combined membership has a wealth of knowledge varying from
building cars to competing to organising events and we are all more than
happy to share it!!
Club meetings are generally held on the
first Monday of each month at 8.30pm in Grant's Hotel, Roscrea
Members are notified of meetings via the
