About Birr and District Motor Club

Birr and District Motor Club was founded in 1968 as Birr and District Auto Club by a handful of motorsport enthusiasts in the Birr area. It has since developed into one of the Midlands most successful motor clubs with over 100 members from the counties Offaly, North Tipperary, Laois, Westmeath and Roscommon. In 2007 the club was renamed to the Birr & District Motor Club Ltd.

The club runs 8 events throughout the year, a Multi Stage Tarmac Rally, Endurance Trial, 2 Autocross Events (Loose & Grass Surface), Multi Venue Autotest, a 2 day Autotest and the Christmas "Turkey Chaser" Autotest. The club also organises the annual Tom O'Reilly Memorial Car Treasure Hunt in conjunction with the Birr Vintage Week Festival Committee. Tom was a founder member of the club and was chairperson for a good many years until his death in 2001.

Club meetings are held on the second Week of each month at 8.30pm in Racket Hall House Hotel, Roscrea.

Members are notified of meetings via the clubs text alert system.
