ABBEYLEIX ALZHEIMERS BEARD & HEAD SHAVE

Bill & Pat to loose 60 years of hair!!!

Saturday Night 12^th February 2011 promises to be a night that no one will forget when a number of motorsport enthusiasts from the Midlands will end up minus there hair and beards. The Beard & Head Shave will be organised is in aid of the Laois Alzheimer’s Association and will be part of a number of fund raising events being organised by the Birr & District Motor Club for this very worthwhile charity.

The Beard & Head Shave will take place in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel on Saturday Night 12^th February starting at 7.30pm. MC for the night is well known RTE Sports presenter Michael Lyster. A Special Auction will also be held on the night along with Spot Prizes galore and surprise special guests. Bill Ryan from Knockaroo & Pat Horan who hails from Borrisokane will both loose there trademark beards after a total of 60 years growing.

Other Fund Raising ventures planned include a Jamie Oliver Cookery Demonstration taking place in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel on Monday 7^th February. Meanwhile on the 18^th February there will be a table quiz in the Castletown Inn Castletown at 9.30pm. All are welcome.

Sunday 27^th February see’s the Birr & District Motor Club organise there popular Car Rally based in Abbeyleix Manor Hotel under the guidance of well known Knockaroo resident Bill Ryan. The rally action will take place in the Rathdowney, Durrow & Ballacolla Areas. The Rally is the opening rounds of the Dunlop National, Top Part West Coast and Loughransigns.com Midlands East Rally Championships. 140 Cars are expected to partake in the Rally.

Durrow driver Oliver Stanley with Jenny Kent from the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel navigating will compete in the Rally in aid of the Laois Alzheimers Association. Please support in there quest. Oliver is a garage owner from Durrow.
